Abstract
The Emergency Room (ER) is the first unit to treat patients in critical condition who require immediate action. The main problem faced is maintaining the quality of nursing care amid the need for immediate action. The quality of nursing care is influenced by the performance of nurses and the implementation of management functions by the head of the room. This study aims to determine the implementation of nursing management functions. The study was conducted in the Emergency Department (ED) of Bina Kasih Hospital in Pekanbaru in June 2025 using a quantitative approach. The subjects of this study were all ward nurses. The research design employed a combination of socialization and direct observation of the subjects over two consecutive days. The results indicate that nursing management functions in the ER of Bina Kasih Hospital in Pekanbaru have been implemented optimally. This is evident from the increased involvement of nurses in performing their roles in accordance with management principles, particularly in the areas of direction (actuating) and supervision (controlling). This study recommends that nursing management be continuously improved to support the quality of care and patient safety.
