HUBUNGAN JUMLAH KUNJUNGAN ANTENATAL CARE DENGAN KEJADIAN PRE-EKLAMSIA BERAT DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS LUBUK RUKAM BATU RAJA

Abstract

The Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) is one of the main indicators in assessing the level of maternal health in a region. According to a World Health Organization (WHO) report published in 2020, worldwide each year more than 585,000 pregnant women die during pregnancy or childbirth (Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, 2020). This figure is divided into several countries, including the United States (9,300), North Africa (179,000), and Southeast Asia (16,000). This study aims to describe the MMR condition and the coverage of antenatal care (ANC) services in Ogan Komering Ulu Regency (OKU) in 2022. This type of research is an analytical survey using secondary data. The study results show that the number of maternal deaths in OKU Regency in 2022 was 12 cases out of 6,053 live births, with an MMR of 198/100,000 live births, an increase compared to 2021 (171/100,000 live births). The most common causes of maternal deaths were hemorrhage (50%), hypertension in pregnancy (25%), and other causes (25%). When viewed by time, deaths occurred during pregnancy (16.7%), childbirth (33.3%), and postpartum (50%). ANC service coverage in OKU Regency in 2022 showed K1 at 94.6%, K4 at 79.7%, and K6 at 79.7%. There were still 25.7% of pregnant women who did not complete at least four ANC visits. The conclusion of this study is that although ANC coverage is quite high, the increase in MMR indicates the need to improve the quality of maternal health services. It is recommended to improve the quality of ANC, early detection of pregnancy complications, and optimization of maternal referrals.
