Abstract
A febrile seizure is an uncontrolled body movement that's caused by rising body temperature that usually occurs in children aged 6 months to 5 years. The uncontrolled movements during febrile seizures and loss of consciousness shortly after a febrile seizure can increase a child's fall risk. The family's role as the child patient's closest person is vital to provide optimal protection for the child patient in preventing falls. The purpose of this case study is to describe the family's role in preventing the children’s fall incident with febrile seizures at Bina Sehat Hospital Jember. The method used is a non-analytical descriptive case study with a detailed description of the family's role in preventing the children’s fall incident with febrile seizures. The data was collected through documentation studies and questionnaires. The observation of fall prevention was conducted on June 3, 2025, and observed for 3 days. The observation results show that families can play a good role in preventing children’s fall incident with febrile seizures by providing full supervision to the child, maintaining the safety of the child's environment, recognizing early signs of seizures, and reporting to the nurse if an incident or abnormality occurs in the child's condition.
