IMPLEMENTASI HEALTH EDUCATION SEBAGAI UPAYA PENGENDALIAN KADAR GULA DARAH PADA PASIEN DIABETES MELLITUS

Abstract
Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a chronic metabolic disease characterized by increased blood sugar levels due to impaired insulin secretion, insulin resistance, or a combination of both. One approach that can be applied is through Health Education which aims to improve patient understanding and knowledge in managing their health conditions. This study aims to describe the implementation of Health Education as an effort to control blood sugar levels in Diabetes Mellitus patients at the Panarukan Health Center. The results of the study showed an increase in patient knowledge regarding Diabetes Mellitus management, as indicated by an increase in questionnaire scores from 40% to 100%. Patients began to implement Health Education which was given gradually. Blood sugar level monitoring showed more controlled results. Systematic implementation of Health Education has proven effective in improving patient knowledge and compliance with Diabetes Mellitus management, as well as contributing to blood sugar level control.
