Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of teacher parenting patterns in shaping and developing student discipline at SMAN 20 Tebo. Discipline is one of the important indicators in the success of the learning process and character formation of students. Teachers not only act as teachers, but also as mentors and role models who influence student behavior through parenting approaches applied in the school environment. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection techniques include observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that democratic and consistent teacher parenting patterns are able to significantly foster students' internal discipline awareness. Conversely, authoritarian or permissive parenting patterns tend to cause resistance and indisciplinary behavior. These findings underline the importance of a balanced parenting strategy between assertiveness and empathy in creating a positive and conducive learning climate. Therefore, teachers need to have pedagogical competence, good interpersonal communication, and consistent role models in order to foster discipline values ​​in students in a sustainable manner.
