Abstract

Safety in household electrical installations is a crucial aspect that must be prioritized to prevent hazards and damages. One of the main components in an electrical installation system that supports user safety is the grounding system. However, in reality, many simple electrical installations in small homes or buildings are not equipped with a grounding system. This article comprehensively discusses the impact of not using a grounding system in electrical installations on safety and security aspects. The research was conducted using a quantitative method through field measurements and testing of installations with and without grounding in a household environment. The results indicate that the absence of a grounding system significantly increases the risk of electric shock, equipment damage, and the potential for fire. Furthermore, the analysis is supported by Indonesian safety regulations and standards, such as SNI (Indonesian National Standard) and PUIL (General Requirements for Electrical Installation). Through this study, the importance of implementing a grounding system is emphasized to enhance user safety and minimize the risk of electrical accidents in household environments


 


Keselamatan dalam instalasi listrik rumah tangga merupakan aspek penting yang harus diperhatikan untuk mencegah bahaya dan kerusakan. Salah satu komponen utama dalam sistem instalasi listrik yang mendukung keselamatan pengguna adalah sistem grounding (pembumian). Namun, kenyataannya di lapangan, banyak instalasi listrik sederhana di rumah-rumah kecil atau bangunan kecil yang tidak dilengkapi dengan sistem grounding. Artikel ini membahas secara komprehensif dampak dari tidak digunakannya sistem grounding pada instalasi listrik terhadap aspek keselamatan dan keamanan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode kuantitatif melalui pengukuran dan pengujian lapangan terhadap instalasi dengan dan tanpa grounding di lingkungan rumah tangga. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa ketidakadaan sistem grounding meningkatkan risiko kejutan listrik, kerusakan peralatan, dan potensi terjadinya kebakaran. Selain itu, analisis didukung dengan regulasi dan standar keamanan di Indonesia, seperti SNI dan PUIL. Melalui kajian ini, disarankan pentingnya penerapan sistem grounding untuk meningkatkan keselamatan pengguna dan meminimalisasi risiko kecelakaan listrik di lingkungan rumah tangga
