Abstract

Final-year students are at a phase of education that is full of challenges, such as the completion of final assignments, academic pressure, and preparation for entering the workforce. In facing this phase, a strong psychological character is needed, such as a growth mindset and grit. A growth mindset refers to the belief that abilities can be developed through effort and experience, while grit is the perseverance and consistency in achieving long-term goals. This study aims to determine the relationship between growth mindset and grit among final-year students at university x. The research uses a quantitative approach with a correlational method. Participants consisted of 130 final-year students from university x who were selected according to criteria through purposive sampling. Data for this research were collected through a questionnaire containing the Growth Mindset Scale (Dweck, 1999) and the Short Grit Scale (Duckworth et al., 2009) using a Likert scale approach. The results of the Spearman correlation test show a positive and significant relationship between growth mindset and grit (r = 0.689, p < 0.05). This indicates that the higher the growth mindset possessed by students, the more.
