Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the extracurricular program in Arabic to improve students' language skills, using the CIPP evaluation model at Ulun Nuha Johor Islamic Private Junior High School. This study is a qualitative study with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques used are interviews, questionnaires, observations, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that in terms of context, the Arabic extracurricular program has been in accordance with the learning needs of students, especially in improving language skills outside of regular class hours. In terms of input, this program is able to provide in-depth material and strengthen students' mastery of Arabic more intensively. In terms of process, the implementation of the program went well, as seen from the activeness of students in participating in Arabic extracurricular activities and active involvement in each learning session. While in terms of product, there was a significant increase in students' Arabic language skills, both in terms of evaluation scores and their daily language practices. Thus, the Arabic extracurricular program at Ulun Nuha Johor Islamic Private Junior High School is considered effective in improving students' language skills. This research is expected to be a valuable input for schools in developing more targeted learning programs that are in accordance with the needs of students.
