Abstract

The language game is a new method used in teaching the Arabic language. The results of its use have a positive impact on teaching language skills, because the basis of the language teaching process requires an enjoyable situation, and the purpose of this research is to know the student’s result in the experimental class, the student’s result in the control class, and the effect of using the language game The Box of Things on the student’s ability to comprehend vocabulary in Fourth grade, Fatih Integrated Islamic Primary School, Tanjung Morawa Deli Serdang. The methodology used is the quantitative approach of the experimental type with the research design True Experimental Design using the posttest-only Control Design method and the method of analyzing the data is the statistical method. The result of using the “Things Box” game in the experimental semester was found at a rate of 71.75. The result score for the student without using the “Things Box” game in the control classroom was 63.50. The result of the t-test result, which is 2.024, is evidence that the reciprocal hypothesis of 0.895 is smaller than the result of the T tabel, and the null hypothesis is accepted. That is to say, there is no effect of using the language game “The Box of Things” on the student’s ability to comprehend vocabulary in the fourth grade at Al-Fatih Integrated Islamic Primary School, Tanjung Morawa Deli Serdang
