PENERAPAN TERAPI RELAKSASI OTOT PROGRESIF PADA PASIEN KANKER DENGAN MASALAH NYERI KRONIS DI RUANG DAHLIA RSUD ARIFIN ACHMAD

Abstract

Breast cancer patients often experience pain in the breast area. The technique that can be done to reduce breast cancer pain is by doing progressive muscle relaxation therapy. The purpose of implementing this intervention is to identify the implementation of nursing care by providing progressive muscle relaxation therapy to the level of pain in breast cancer patients. The implementation method is carried out by providing direct therapy (nursing intervention). The implementation time was carried out in December 2024 and the number of patients involved was 2 breast cancer patients who were treated at Arifin Achmad Hospital. Measurements were taken before and after the action was taken. The results of the implementation showed that the action showed that the relaxation action taken was progressive muscle relaxation. This action was carried out for 3 days where each day it was carried out 1 time. The implementation of the action was carried out for 10 minutes and measurements were taken before and after the action regarding the SLKI indicator for Chronic Pain nursing problems. The results obtained were that the average value of the nursing problem indicator for Mrs. S's Chronic Pain before the action was taken was 2 and after the action was taken was 4 and the nursing problem indicator for Mrs. H's Chronic Pain before the action was taken was 1.3 and after the action was taken was 4. It is hoped that patients can use this progressive muscle relaxation therapy as a non-pharmacological therapy to reduce the intensity of pain they feel.
