Abstract
Laparotomy procedures leave surgical scars that result in pain, causing patients to fear mobilization, which in turn hinders their movement and slows the wound healing process. A wound is a condition where there is a disruption in the continuity of body tissue. Early postoperative mobilization is highly recommended and should be carried out as soon as possible. Postoperative body movement is essential in reducing the length of hospital stay and assisting the wound healing process. This case study aims to apply early mobilization to enhance the wound healing process. A descriptive method was used in this study with a nursing care process approach and the REEDA observation sheet. The subjects of this study were two post-laparotomy patients selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Prior to data collection, each subject provided informed consent. The results of the case study indicate that early mobilization nursing interventions are very effective in accelerating the wound healing process, as indicated by a decrease in the REEDA score.
