Abstract
The formulation of the problem of this study is how the learning process and the ability of class II students of Ulun Nuha Islamic Middle School Medan Johor in reading Arabic texts. The purpose of this study is: (1) to find out the learning process (2) to find out the ability of students in reading. The research method used by the researcher is descriptive research with a descriptive qualitative approach carried out in class II of Ulun Nuha Islamic Middle School Medan Johor. The data collection techniques used by the researcher are interviews, observations and tests at the end of the meeting. The results of this study indicate that (1) the learning process of maharah qira'ah at the Ulun Nuha Islamic boarding school is good (2) class II students of Ulun Nuha Middle School have good abilities in reading Arabic texts, although there are a few who are still constrained in their reading, the researcher found that some students still stuttered in reading but were correct in pronouncing each word, there were also those who were in a hurry in their reading so that they pronounced so many words incorrectly.
