Abstract
Fracture is a condition in which bone continuity is partially or completely broken due to pressure that exceeds bone strength. Postoperative pain is a common problem in fracture patients after surgery, such as Open Reduction and Internal Fixation (ORIF) surgery, which can impact physiological conditions and hinder the healing process. One of the physiological effects of pain is an increase in stress hormones that cause hyperglycemia, tachycardia, hypertension, and impaired immune response. This case study aims to evaluate the application of Qur'anic Murottal therapy to reduce acute pain in ORIF postoperative patients in the Dahlia Room of Arifin Achmad Hospital, Riau Province. The method used is a case study with data collection techniques in the form of observation, pain scale interviews, and direct physical examination of two participants. The intervention provided was Murottal Al-Qur'an therapy for 15 minutes every day for three consecutive days. The results showed a decrease in the pain scale in case study I from pain scale 5 (moderate pain) to pain scale 2 (mild pain), and in case study 2 from pain scale 6 (moderate pain) to pain scale 3 (mild pain). The author also uses an instrument in the form of pain assessment on the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) measurement. These results indicate that Murottal Al-Qur'an therapy is effective as a nonpharmacological method in reducing postoperative ORIF pain. It is hoped that the results of this study can be a reference for educational institutions and health care facilities in improving nursing care, especially in the utilization of alternative therapies for pain management.
